An Innovative Curriculum in the Fundamentals of Intellectual Property
In today’s world, innovators and business managers must understand how to develop, use and protect their company’s intellectual property assets. It is equally important to understand how to avoid infringing the intellectual property rights of others, preferably without having to compromise your own strategy. While a qualified attorney is often engaged to address these issues, innovators and business manager who, themselves, have a basic working knowledge of the fundamentals of intellectual property can recognize valuable and protectable innovation in the first instance, can avoid pitfalls that might otherwise result in a loss of rights and can know how best to use the skills of an IP attorney.
For these reasons, Steven L. Nichols, has developed an innovative curriculum for innovators and business manager in the fundamentals of intellectual property. This curriculum has been taught as an undergraduate course for engineering and business students at Brigham Young University for the past decade. It has also been presented in-house to the research teams of interested companies throughout the intermountain West and Silicon Valley.
Our goal is to provide you with the information and services you may need to better capitalize on the innovations of your enterprise. Our services include providing basic information on the various aspects of intellectual property for business managers who are new to the field.
